If you're looking to move your payment data from your old Stripe account to a new one, you've come to the right place. This process, called "Stripe to Stripe Data Migration", might sound complex, but we've broken it down into easy steps for you.

Step 1: Setting Up Your New Stripe Account

  1. First things first, you'll need a new Stripe account. Create Stripe Account

  2. Connect it to Fitune by going to Fitune admin > Settings > Payment Gateway Need more help with this? Check out our guide on Connecting Stripe Account to Fitune

Step 2: Grabbing Your Stripe Account IDs

To make the magic happen, you'll need two important numbers:

  1. Your destination Stripe account ID

  2. Your source Stripe account ID.

  • To find your destination account ID: Login to Fitune admin > Settings > Payment gateway > You will see the Account ID here (see image below)

  • Your source account ID is from your existing Stripe account, the one where your data currently lives.

Step 3: Initiating the Data Transfer

Now, let's get that data moving:

  1. Log in to your source Stripe account (where your data lives)

  2. Head to the Customers page and hit "Copy Customers."

  3. In the Copy Method field, select "Copy All Customers."

  4. Enter the account ID of your new Stripe account (the destination) and hit "Continue." You'll get a heads-up that the recipient needs to authorize the request.

  5. Confirm the transfer.

Nice job! Your recipient will see a pending copy request on their Customers page. Now, go over to your new Stripe account:

  1. Log in to your destination Stripe account (New Stripe account).

  2. Visit the Customers page. You'll see a banner letting you know that the sender (you!) wants to share data.

  3. Click "Authorize and Accept."

Voilà! Your payment information is on its way.

Migrating Payment Data From Third-party Stripe to New Stripe

Got Stripe from a third-party software? If your current software is connected to Stripe but you don't access Stripe directly, and you want to move data to a new Stripe account, follow these steps:

The process here is similar to the above Stripe to Stripe migration, with just one difference:

Instead of doing it all yourself, you'll need to connect with your current software's point of contact or customer support. They'll help initiate the payment data transfer and provide the necessary source ID of the Stripe account.

With these steps, your payment data will be happily settled into its new stripe.
