What Is Stripe and How to Connect It with Fitune
Fitune uses Stripe as its payment processor. Connect your account to accept credit and debit card payments directly through your website and app — no setup fees, you only pay per transaction.
What is Stripe and how does it benefit you?
Stripe is one of the most secure and widely used payment processors in the world. When connected with Fitune, your clients can pay by credit or debit card directly on your store — no Stripe account needed on their end. Funds are automatically deposited into your connected bank account.
Key benefits:
- No setup or monthly fees — you only get charged when you receive a payment.
- Your clients don't need a Stripe account to pay.
- Funds are transferred to your bank account on a rolling schedule, typically within 1–3 business days once initiated.
- Manage refunds, transfers, and revenue analytics directly from your Stripe account.
How it works
- A client makes a purchase on your Fitune website or app.
- Stripe securely processes the card payment.
- The payment is transferred to your Stripe account.
- Stripe sends the funds to your connected bank account.
Payments usually arrive within a few business days, depending on your region and account configuration.
Step-by-step guide to connect Stripe
- Go to Settings and click on Payment gateway.
- Click on Connect your account. You will be redirected to a Stripe page.
- If you don't have an account: fill in the form to create one.
- If you already have a Stripe account: click on "Already have a Stripe account? Sign in" in the top right corner.
- Important: if you get the message "404 (Not found)" when adding your website URL, you can enter the URL of any of your business's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) or contact Stripe Support to validate your URL.
- Enter your credentials and click on Connect my Stripe account on the confirmation screen.
- To confirm the connection was successful, go back to the Payment gateway page. If successful, you'll see a green checkmark with the text "Your Stripe account is connected." If the blue button still shows "Connect account," the connection was unsuccessful — try again or reach out via our help chat.
Payout schedule and deposit time
It's important to distinguish between two concepts:
- Payout schedule — defines how often payout cycles are processed. If you're in Mexico and use Fitune Pay, you can configure this directly from Fitune.
- Deposit time — how long it takes for funds to arrive in your bank account after each payout cycle. This depends on your region and is managed by Stripe, not Fitune.
Deposit time varies by region. In Mexico, it generally takes 3–5 business days after each payout cycle. For new accounts, the first deposit may take longer due to the initial verification process.
Over time, Stripe may reduce this timeframe based on your account's history and performance. The factors they consider are:
- Transaction history — the volume and consistency of processed payments.
- Operating history — your account should have a meaningful period of activity.
- Dispute ratio — a low number of chargebacks relative to your processing volume.
- Compliance — your account must be verified and have up-to-date information.
- Processing volume — a higher processing volume may increase the likelihood of faster deposit times.
This process is managed entirely by Stripe and may improve over time as your account grows.
