How to Set Up Google Search Console
Monitor how Google indexes your website
Important
This setup happens entirely on Google, not inside Fitune. Search Console is a free Google service to monitor and troubleshoot how your site appears in Google Search results, and its configuration depends directly on Google — it can change without Fitune controlling it. For the most up-to-date information, check Google's official resources directly:
- About Search Console
- Getting started with Search Console (Google's step-by-step guide)
Google Search Console lets you see how your site appears in Google Search results, spot indexing errors, and confirm Google is seeing your site correctly.
Prerequisite: you need your Google Analytics ID already set up in Fitune. If you haven't done that yet, check the article How to set up Google Analytics first.
Step 1: Add your site to Search Console
- Go to Google Search Console with your Google account.
- Click Add property.
- Enter your full Fitune site URL (for example, your-studio.myfitune.io or your custom domain).
Step 2: Verify ownership using Google Analytics
Instead of uploading an HTML file or modifying your DNS, the simplest way is to verify through your Google Analytics association:
- In the verification options, choose Google Analytics.
- Confirm the Google account you're using has Owner role on the Google Analytics property connected to your site.
- Click Verify.
Note: this method only works if your Google Analytics ID is already active on your site (see Step 1 of the Google Analytics article).
Step 3: Explore your Search Console dashboard
Once verified, you'll be able to see:
- How often your site appears in search results.
- Which search terms bring visits to your site.
- Indexing errors Google has detected.
Frequently Asked Questions
▶ Is this configured inside Fitune? No, all the setup happens in your Google account. Fitune only needs your Google Analytics ID active for verification to work.
▶ What if I don't have Google Analytics set up? You need to set it up first — it's the simplest verification method for Fitune sites, since it doesn't require uploading files or modifying your domain.
▶ Are there other ways to verify my site? Yes, Google also allows verification via HTML file or DNS, but these options are more technical and aren't directly supported from the Fitune admin. Check Google's official guide for more detail.
▶ What's the point of Search Console if I already have Google Analytics? Analytics measures visitor behavior once they reach your site; Search Console measures how people find you on Google before they arrive, and alerts you to indexing issues.
