Publishing and Transition Between Editors

Understand how changes to your website get published

If you already had a website with the previous editor

You'll see two options in your dashboard: Previous Design and New Design.

  • While you customize your site in the New Design, your site on the Previous Design stays published and visible to your clients — your previous homepage won't be deleted.

  • You'll be able to select from the available templates or start from scratch. Any change you save at this point can be saved, and it won't be published, since it will be saved as a "Draft."

  • Once you're ready to publish this new version, from your New Design page in your Fitune admin, click the button to activate this site.

  • That action will do the following:

    1. Publish your new homepage — this page will go from Draft to Live. So your clients will see this version on your site.
    2. You'll no longer see the Previous Design or Navigation pages in your Fitune admin — since you can now access the editor and edit your site's pages from this new Design page. Here you can edit your page names, hide them, etc., just like you used to on the old navigation page.

Benefits of switching to the new editor: besides more templates and design freedom, the new editor includes features the previous editor doesn't support, like SEO and metadata and Meta Pixel and Google Analytics tracking. If you decide to revert to the Previous Design, you'll lose access to these features while using it.

If for any reason you want to go back to the previous editor, you can access it from this link, and click the Save button on that page. This will publish the new editor (⚠️ pending confirmation — should this say "previous"?). But we recommend using the new editor, since the previous one will eventually no longer be supported. If you're a new studio on Fitune

This means you probably haven't customized your Homepage yet, so your users won't see it on the site — the logo will redirect your clients to other service pages (like booking) in the meantime.

For your Homepage to exist and be visible, you need to:

  1. Choose one of the templates or start from blank. — You can view templates before selecting them to make sure you pick the one that best resonates with your brand. If not, you can start from 0.
  2. Customize your page within the editor.
  3. Save the change within the editor and your Homepage will be published.

If you want to rename your pages or hide some of your site, you can do that from this same Design page.

 

How to customize my page from the new editor

Whether you're coming from the previous editor or are a new studio, once inside the editor, customization works the same way for everyone. For full detail on templates, sections, blocks, and customization, visit the article Design Your Website with the New Website Builder.

Marketing pages vs. system pages

  • Marketing pages: these are the ones you can customize with the editor. For now, Home is the only one available. Soon you'll be able to create additional pages (for example, for your team or policies).
  • System pages: these are functional pages of your platform (like checkout or the booking calendar) that can't be customized with the editor yet.

▶ What's the difference between saving and publishing my New Design? (applies only if you already had a site with the previous editor) Saving keeps your New Design in Draft status, visible only to you. Publishing (with the activate button) makes it Live and visible to your clients — and at the same time removes your access to the Previous Design.

▶ Does my previous website stop working while I customize the new one? No, your Previous Design stays published and works normally while you work on your New Design.

▶ What happens when I activate my New Design? It becomes Live, and access to the Previous Design and the Navigation page disappears from your admin panel.

▶ Can I go back to the Previous Design after switching? Yes, you can revert using the direct link, though you'll lose access to SEO, Meta Pixel, and Google Analytics while using the previous editor.

▶ Why don't I see the Home tab on my site if I'm a new studio? Because you haven't customized and published your Homepage yet. In the meantime, your clients are directed to other service pages.

▶ Can I create additional marketing pages besides Home? Not for now — this feature will be available soon.

▶ Where do I now manage the names and visibility of my pages? From the same Design page, whether you're a new studio or already made the switch from the previous editor.
